DESCRIPTION
Bisglycin Tab consists of one molecule of ferrous iron bound to two molecules of glycine. Ferrous bisglycinate belongs to dietary supplements and has been approved by global regulators. Bisglycin Tab enjoys the privilege of being a highly absorbable iron supplement exceeding ferrous salts.

PHARMACOLOGY

Ferrous Bisglycinate
Following oral administration, ferrous bisglycinate adds to the intestinal intraluminal pool of inorganic, non-haem iron and is absorbed intact into the mucosal cells of the intestine, and is subsequently hydrolyzed into its iron and glycine components. The absorption of iron from ferrous bisglycinate is regulated through the same physiological mechanisms as any other inorganic forms of iron. The Ferrous bis-glycinate molecule is ionically neutral — it carries no electrical charge, which makes it highly stable and non-reactive in the presence of other nutrients. These specific features enable Ferrous Bisglycinate as one of the superior bioavailable iron supplements.

L-Methylfolate (LMF)
L-Methylfolate is an inevitable component in the synthesis of nucleic acids, cell growth & reproduction, and in erythropoiesis too. Folic acid is a synthetic compound that has no biological function unless it is reduced by a multistep reaction into L-Methylfolate. The MTHFR is an enzyme involved in the metabolism of folate. The MTHFR(Methylene Tetrahydrofolate Reductase) catalyzes the conversion of 5,10- MTHF to L-Methylfolate. The mutations in MTHFR can lead to MTHFR polymorphism that in turn affect the formation of L-methyl folate and lead to megaloblastic anaemia and multiple pregnancy complications

Zinc Bisglycinate
Zinc bis-glycinate is a new chelate formed by two glycine molecules bound to a zinc cation, resulting in a double heterocyclic ring compound. The carboxyl
group of each glycine is linked to the zinc by an ionic bond, whereas the α-amino group is joined to the metal by a coordinate covalent bond. Bis-glycinate may protect a significant fraction of the zinc from interactions with lumenal gastro-intestinal components, dietary components, and drugs. Zinc bisglycinate has a low molecular weight (<1000 daltons) and is able to cross membranes. Zinc plays a key role in enhancing maternal and fetal immunity, and prevents pre-term births and other pregnancy complications.

Methylcobalamin
Methylcobalamin and Mecobalamin are the two biologically active forms of Vitamin B12. Methylcobalamin acts as an important cofactor of methionine synthesis, supplements of methylcobalamin enhance the efficiency of the  Homocysteine consumption and reducing its concentration. Thus, lowering homocysteine concentrations to the normal range (4 – 15 μmol/l) seems to be an effective therapeutic method in decreasing the risks of hematologic, neurological symptoms, hyperhomocysteinemia & neural tube defects.

INDICATION

Bisglycin Tab is indicated for the prevention and treatment of anemia. Bisglycin Tab is also indicated for the prevention and treatment of anemia in pregnancy and lactation.
