Each film coated tablet of Wakfree contains
Diacerein ………………………..50mg
Glucosamine Sulphate ………750mg
Methyl Sulphonyl Methane ….250mg
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY:
Diacerein in Wakfree is a potent and established IL-1 inhibitor which retards the progression of the disease and stimulates the process of regeneration.
Glucosamine is a physiologic substrate for the biosynthesis of Hyaluronic acid and glucosaminoglycan, which are used by chondrocytes for the biosynthesis of proteoglycans and of proteoglycan aggregates.
MSM in Wakfree is the rich source of natural sulphur which helps in synthesis of cartilage and possesses the potent anti inflammatory and analgesic property.
Therefore, WAKFREE arrests degeneration of cartilage,completes regeneration and reduces the pain in Osteoarthritis. Moreover even after discontinuation of treatment, the effect still remains for 2 to 3 months because of the carry over effects of the drugs.
INDICATIONS AND USAGE: Osteoarthritis & Rheumatoid Arthritis
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Known Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients.
PRECAUTIONS:
– Generally, Wakfree is well tolerated.
– No reported effects on Serum Transaminase Levels.
– Can be given safely even in the patients with partial renal impairment.

Pregnancy: No published data available in pregnancy but precaution has to be taken before starting treatment.
Teratogenic Effects: No reported side effects.
Nursing Mothers: No published data available in nursing mother but precaution has to be taken before starting treatment.
Geriatric Use: Safely given to all age group of people and safe in elderly patients.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Digestive Tract: Mild & very rare like Nausea, Vomiting, Dyspepsia & anorexia or diarrhoea.
Hypersensitive Skin Reactions: Very rare but redness, rash, Urticaria infrequently reported.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
One to two tablets per day along with meals for minimum period of 6 months.
