Composition:
Emglycin M
Empagliflozin 12.5 mg + Metformin 500 mg tablet
Description:
Empagliflozin-Metformin is a fixed-dose combination therapy prescribed for managing hyperglycemia in type 2 diabetes. Empagliflozin inhibits the SGLT2 transporter in the renal proximal tubules, reducing glucose reabsorption and promoting urinary glucose excretion. Metformin complements this action by suppressing hepatic gluconeogenesis, thereby decreasing endogenous glucose production. Together, they offer a dual mechanism to improve glycemic control.
Clinical Use:
It is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults inadequately controlled on either agent alone or already on both.
Dosage & Administration: As directed by the physician.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (eGFR <30 mL/min/1.73 m²). This product is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
