Description:
Empagliflozin is a prescription medication used to treat several chronic conditions, primarily related to blood sugar and heart health. Empagliflozin blocks the SGLT2 protein in the kidneys, which normally reabsorbs glucose into the bloodstream. By inhibiting this protein, it causes excess glucose to be excreted in urine, helping lower blood sugar levels.

Clinical Use:
– Type 2 Diabetes: Helps lower blood sugar levels by promoting glucose excretion through urine.
– Heart Failure: Reduces risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization in adults with heart failure.
– Chronic Kidney Disease: Slows progression and lowers cardiovascular risk in adults with CKD

Dosage & Administration: 1 tablet daily or as directed by the physician.

Contraindications:
Contra indicated in severe renal impairment (eGFR <30 mL/min/1.73 m²). This product is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
