Each tablet contains Tranexamic Acid 500 mg & Mefenamic 250 mg.

Mechanism of Action:

Dapagliflozin:

Tranexamic acid is a synthetic lysine amino acid derivative, which diminishes the dissolution of hemostatic fibrin by plasmin. In the presence of tranexamic acid, the lysine receptor binding sites of plasmin for fibrin are occupied, preventing binding to fibrin monomers, thus preserving and stabilizing fibrin’s matrix structure. The antifibrinolytic effects of tranexamic acid are mediated by reversible interactions at multiple binding sites within plasminogen

Mefenamic acid has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. The mechanism of action of mefenamic acid, like that of other NSAIDs, is not completely understood but involves inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2). Mefenamic acid is a potent inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis in vitro.

INDICATION & USAGE:

A combination of Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic acid is indicated for short-term use for haemorrhage or risk of haemorrhage in those with increased fibrinolysis or fibrinogenolysis in association with pain. Local fibrinolysis as occurs in conditions such as a) Prostatectomy and bladder surgery, b) Menorrhagia, c) Epistaxis, d) Conisation of the cervix, e) Traumatic hyphema.

 

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to Tranexamic Acid or Mefenamic acid.

Severe renal failure because of the risk of accumulation.

Active thromboembolic disease.

History of venous or arterial thrombosis.

Fibrinolytic conditions following consumption coagulopathy.

History of convulsions.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

The most common adverse reactions are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, allergic dermatitis, giddiness, and hypotension.
